Lucy Lawless has a long and distinguished career as an actress and musician in New Zealand. Her most notable performances include Xena Warrior Princess and Spartacus Blood and Sand. The most well-known of her roles is playing the character of Xena who she played during her entire career as an actor. Lucy was cast in the role intended to play in the direction of Vanessa Angel. However, she was unable to attend filming due to illness. Her portrayal as Xena was so successful that it earned her the right to get a spin-off series which was launched in September 1995. Lucy's fame as an actress grew after this spin-off. It became a major popular in terms of popularity and also in terms of culture.
